Dear Mrs Ljiljana,
I have this compost for a week now, It was a phase III compost and arrived with a big problem from the first day : it overheated in the truck some of the bags were over 40 degrees Celsius, I cooled it down ti 10 -17 degrees and from there begone the problem.... This mold appeared when the temperature inside was over 20 degrees and in the compost 22.
It appeared only in the affected bags where there was no more mycelium. The humidity inside was over 93 RH.
I talked with someone here with more expirience and told me that is a humidity mold and I should not be afraid. Also gaved me some indication to introduce fresh air increase ventilation to 100% and lower the humidity for 12 hours.
Now I am covering the compost! What should I look for these days??

I am a beginner and wanted to know all about mushroom farming. I have read everything in here but can not find detailed steps on how to do it. Can anyone please help me find a reference material on how to grow mushrooms.

what is the substrate recipe in your cultivation? By my calculations, I should use 150 kg chicken manure for 300 kg straw. Isn´t it too much manure?

Is lack of oxygen the only reason for mushroom caps opened when mushrooms small - ca 3-4 cm diameter?
How often should mushrooms be picked and at what size?
Are white agaricus mushrooms marketable when caps opened? I know brown agaricus is sold when caps opened and called partabella
Best wishes,
Kristina

Hello,
What could be the reason for low yield? We get 2-3 kg mushrooms from 1 m2. Our substrate recipe is ok, spawn is good (it is said to give up to 35 kg/m2), growing rooms are clean. Could it be only the pasteurization - we can only heat our substrate 24 hours and maximum temperature will be 45-48`C. Could it be only ventilation - we can ventilate the growing room maybe only 8 times/24 hours.
Substrate is in bags, about 25 cm and casing 3 cm. No scratching (loosening).
We get mushrooms during 2-2,5 months and we have to cut them every day - we do not have breaks. Our mushroom beds are not filled with many mushrooms as it should be.
