The Structure

Before application, the casing layer should be very moist, but not to an extent when it is impossible to work with it - its structure should be maintained friable.

During the vegetative mycelium growth, the content of CO2 should be high; in this case, the mycelium grows better in a dense casing layer and in the one that has been rammed. On the stage of generative growth (fruiting) a more friable structure of the layer is required, therefore, before the mycelium moves to the generative stage, the dense structure of the casing layer is destroyed by loosening.

The casing layer with a dense structure during the vegetative phase and with a friable structure during the generative stage guarantees the improvement of the fruit body formation and a higher yield.
