Dear Hai Nguyen!
The usual depth of the cover layer is 4-6 cm. Weight is 26-30 kg per 1 m2. It depends which mushrooms you want to grow. If you have a small mushroom farm and can not use special equipment, then you can work on the following technology. Take a small mixer, put peat in it, chalk, and start stirring. And gradually add water to the desired humidity. If you use bags for growing mushrooms, calculate the area of this bag multiplying it by the depth of the cover layer and you will know the volume per bag. Make a template for this volume, that was the same amount of peat per bag. Next, you need to make a small rake. They can be made from wood and nails. The nails should protrude from the wood for 6 - 7 cm. The distance between the nails is 4 cm. These rakes distribute the peat evenly over the surface of the bag. It is very important to loosen the layer to the full depth. The layer should be made of lumps 1 - 2 cm.
Sincerely, Alexander Tsarev
